INTERVIEW
  1. Previous job industry/work

I joined a major Japanese IT manufacturer right after graduating from university and started my career as a systems engineer.
After that, I transitioned to marketing and joined a venture company that provides web consulting. I studied SEO (search engine optimization) from scratch and worked on improving the websites of various clients, both large and small.
Furthermore, I gained experience in a wide range of digital marketing tasks at domestic OTAs (online travel agencies) and payment app companies. In particular, at the domestic OTA company, marketers were expected to have technical skills, and I had the exciting experience of writing SQL to directly access databases and semi-automating advertising operations with Python.

  2. Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?

I'd like to discuss the "business," "people," and "positions" separately.
First, regarding the "business," when I was in my twenties, I myself was lost in my career and went through a period of pessimism about life. From that experience, I came to believe that I wanted to increase the number of energetic business people in Japan who choose their own lives.
I believe that GLOBIS' graduate school and corporate training programs provide precisely those "weapons for forging your own path in life." They offer services that provide not just simple business knowledge and know-how, but the thinking and judgment skills necessary to survive in the business world where there are no easy answers. I wanted to help even just one young person like my former self to turn their life around by experiencing the learning opportunities at GLOBIS.
As for the "people," I was drawn to the employees I met during the selection process. What was particularly memorable was the question I was asked by the department head in the final interview: "In 5 or 10 years, what would you want to have achieved to feel that joining GLOBIS was worthwhile?" I strongly felt that this company respects the happiness and self-realization of each and every employee. I had never seen a company ask such a question before, and I was impressed and felt that I really wanted to work with this team.
(※I will discuss my position in the section on "Current Job Responsibilities.")

  3. Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS

As mentioned earlier, I had a feeling that there would be many people with appealing personalities even before joining the company, but I still imagined that, based on the image of business school, most of them would be cool and reserved.
However, in reality, many of them were cheerful and energetic, and I was very surprised by this pleasant contrast!
The keyword "culture cultivation" comes up frequently within the company, and I feel that there's a company culture that values a sense of unity and solidarity as a community. I think the level of psychological safety is very high.
Another attractive aspect, though not exactly a gap, is how much they respect each employee's career, asking questions like, "What do you want to do in the future?", "How do you want to grow?", and "Well, let's try challenging ourselves with these kinds of tasks next term." I think it's a company that provides very strong support to employees who want to expand their field of activity and grow.

  4. What is your current job?

I belong to the WebNurturing unit in the B2B marketing department, and my mission is to maximize traffic to various websites related to corporate training businesses and to acquire as many leads as possible from those websites.
We are constantly working to improve our website so that our customers (primarily HR managers and personnel in companies) can learn about GLOBIS through the web and smoothly proceed with information gathering and consideration of implementation.
This relates to the "reasons for joining the company" mentioned earlier, but when I looked at GLOBIS 's Job Description during my job search, it seemed to me that I would be doing everything related to web improvement and digital marketing, which sounded challenging but also incredibly interesting.
Like Steve Jobs' "Connecting the dots," I felt that I could utilize all of my past experiences, and I wanted to take on this challenge.
My intuition back then was right, and I'm incredibly fortunate to have great teammates, so I'm having a really fun time every day!

  5. What I want to achieve in my future career

This overlaps a bit with what I mentioned earlier, but I hope to help even one more person turn their life around through their studies at GLOBIS. While I now enjoy a fulfilling job and wonderful teammates, I felt restless and uncertain every day in my twenties. I used to constantly wonder what my life would be like now if I had chosen the other company that had offered me a job after graduation—a rather pointless fantasy in retrospect.
In my case, my life began to change for the better after meeting a certain person. I hope that more people in Japan will be able to make the most of their one and only life, and if GLOBIS can be the catalyst for that, I would be very happy.

  6. Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"

Perhaps because GLOBIS specializes in talent development, there are a lot of people who are genuinely interested in others. When I first joined the company, I was wandering around the supplies area looking for scissors when someone I didn't know from another department asked me, "Are you looking for something?" It might sound like a small thing, but these kinds of thoughtful gestures were incredibly helpful during that anxious early period at the company.
Of course, Onboarding process is also very well-structured. Not only my superiors and mentors, but also my teammates all look out for me, asking things like, "Is there anything you need help with?" and "If you have any concerns, feel free to ask me anytime." Because of this, I never feel neglected, and positive feelings naturally begin to grow, such as "I want to do my best for this team" and "I want to do the same for the next member who joins." I felt that Organization has a positive cycle in place where everyone can work comfortably.

MESSAGE

Message for those who are thinking about job change to GLOBIS

Our CEO, Hori, often says, "We prioritize job satisfaction over ease of work," and I think that very accurately describes the atmosphere at GLOBIS.

Setting challenging goals and working in an environment that constantly demands self-improvement can be tough. On the other hand, perhaps because of my wonderful teammates and the feeling that my work is contributing to society, I don't feel much hardship or difficulty. I'm not someone with an iron will, but I still enjoy my work and feel good about it, so I think it's a company where you can truly "feel a sense of purpose."

If you're interested, please apply to GLOBIS. We look forward to working with you!
