Previous job industry/work
I previously worked for a beer manufacturer as a corporate sales representative.
My main mission was to propose our products, store layouts, and promotional strategies to buyers at mass retailers, our business partners, in order to increase the amount of business we did with them.
Furthermore, in my work, I made it a point to not only make proposals based on products, but also to analyze end-user purchasing data, known as POS data, and formulate hypotheses to make proposals that were in line with reality.
I feel that the quantitative and qualitative analysis experience I gained there is proving useful in my current work. -
Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?
There are two main reasons why I decided to join the company.
Firstly, I was attracted to the company's culture of respecting individual career development. The feedback I received during the interview was very detailed compared to other companies, and it left me with the impression that this company really looks into the potential of each individual. The company culture carefully assesses each person's strengths and weaknesses and supports career development that suits each individual, and I decided to join the company because I believe I can grow more by working in such an environment.
Secondly, I was attracted to the organization's culture that values " Individual Discretion and Responsibility."
At GLOBIS, employees are given autonomy, but are also expected to take responsibility for their own actions and results. Because it's an environment where you think for yourself and act independently, rather than waiting to be told what to do, you can take on new challenges of your own volition without being bound by company rules or precedents. For me, who believed that a proactive attitude of continuously challenging myself was necessary to build the career I envisioned, this culture of "Individual Discretion and Responsibility" was truly an ideal environment and I felt it deeply aligned with my own values.
Regarding these two points, there was no gap between my expectations and reality after joining the company, and I appreciate their appeal every day. -
Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS
The first thing that surprised me after joining the company was the thorough Onboarding process.
When I first joined my previous company, the work style was to acquire new knowledge and skills as I went along, so I thought that was the norm for mid-career hires.
On the other hand, at GLOBIS, the necessary skills for each level of achievement are systematically organized, clearly showing what to be mindful of and how to grow step by step. Furthermore, the support system from the surrounding members is also very generous, and I remember feeling that there was no more reassuring environment than this during the initial stages.
Also, I was aware of organizational culture of valuing "Individual Discretion and Responsibility" even before joining the company, so I was a little worried that it might be too laissez-faire. However, the reality is that there are plenty of opportunities for one-on-one meetings, and I'm able to work with people who think with me about my current concerns and challenges, as well as my future career, which is a positive surprise. -
What is your current job?
Currently, I work in the B2B marketing department as an inside sales representative, responsible for connecting new corporate clients with field sales. My responsibilities are broadly divided into two areas: "customer support" and "implementation of strategies."
In our "Customer Support" role, we provide appropriate information via email and telephone to clients who are facing organizational challenges and are interested in GLOBIS' services. We work together with them to clarify their organizational challenges and support them until we can develop a full-fledged proposal.
In "implementation of strategies," we collaborate with the team responsible for upstream marketing to develop strategies to increase our customer base, and we also analyze customer web data to devise and implement more effective approaches. However, this is just one example, and since the strategies we implement are very diverse, it is an environment where you can challenge yourself with a variety of tasks. -
What I want to achieve in my future career
Going forward, I would like to gain experience in inside sales while also expanding my involvement into the upstream processes of marketing. I want to build up my skills and experience as a marketing professional in order to contribute to creating a system that will increase the number of customers who consult with GLOBIS.
My career up until now has consistently been in sales, so I started in marketing with almost no experience. However, as I've been working on my daily tasks, I've come to think, "Marketing is interesting!" The reason for this is the high quality of the marketing department to which the inside sales team belongs.
I will continue to cherish my passion for my work and strive to grow further as a marketing professional. -
Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"
While pursuing ambitious goals, there were times when I felt that existing methods were insufficient.
I strongly felt that it would be best to organize the current situation and create a forum where the entire team could reconsider what we can do now, so I suggested to the team leader that we hold a brainstorming session.
At the time, I had been with the company for less than a year, but despite my short tenure, the team leader took my suggestion positively and provided thorough advice on how to proceed.
On the day of the event, not only the team leader but all the members were very welcoming, and as a result, I feel that we were able to make it a very meaningful event.
I realized that "GLOBIS ness" lies in the fact that anyone, regardless of their length of service, can achieve what they want to do if they clearly communicate their will, intentions, and aspirations, and that those around them will support them in doing so.
