INTERVIEW
  1. Previous job industry/work

My previous job was working at a bank for over 10 years after graduating. When I first joined the company, I started with small and medium-sized business sales, and from there I was engaged in the planning of personal financial products at the headquarters and new business development. Among them, I had the longest career in the planning and operation of deposit products and housing loan systems, and was in charge of system renewal and development of new online applications.
At my previous company, system development was outsourced, so much of the work involved in system planning and operation was business-oriented. However, since I was interested in the technical side, I wanted to do a job closer to development, so I became conscious of changing jobs.

  2. Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?

The biggest reason is that I was attracted to the discretionary culture of "Individual Discretion and Responsibility". For me, the primary purpose of my job change was to be involved in system development, so it was important for me to be able to make development easy for the field and to be able to actively and speedily incorporate new technologies. In that respect, I was attracted to the development environment when I heard that GLOBIS has few pre-determined rules and that you have a lot of discretion in making your own decisions.
In addition, since GLOBIS is basically a mid-career recruit with a variety of backgrounds, it was thought that a lot of know-how and knowledge was gathered without being biased towards one set of values. In that respect, I decided to change jobs because I thought it was the best environment for me to improve my skills.

  3. Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS

It's not that much of a gap before and after joining the company, but the culture of "Individual Discretion and Responsibility" was stronger than I thought before joining the company, and I was a little confused.
GLOBIS has very few rules and procedures, and there is almost no top-down decision of what to do. You can discover and set your own challenges and decide how to achieve them and your goals, but of course you need to determine whether you can take responsibility if you can't do it.
In my case, the gap with my previous job was particularly large, so at first I was a little confused as to how much freedom was allowed and how much responsibility I could take. However, now, I feel that including such a judgment is connected to my own growth.

  4. What is your current job?

Currently, I am on the team responsible for the management system that we use internally/externally to provide training. Among them, I am mainly in charge of project management for the development and operation of the system that manages the procedures required by both the company and GLOBIS until the training is implemented.
It is very interesting that both the business and technical perspectives are necessary, such as listening to customer surveys and opinions from system users on GLOBIS side, incorporating them into system development requirements, and accurately conveying them to engineers.
In addition, by improving the convenience of the system, it is also a very rewarding job as it can improve the experience value for customers and contribute to the efficiency of GLOBIS operations. I feel the happiest when I hear words of praise for the system from customers and internal users.

  5. What I want to achieve in my future career

In the future, I would like to further improve my technical knowledge and skills, and eventually aim to become an engineer.
Originally, I started my career in a completely different industry and occupation, but the more I started studying systems and engineering, and the more I deepened my knowledge, the more I fell in love with it, and I ended up changing jobs. GLOBIS has a good development environment, and there are many excellent engineers/SEs, so I think it's the best place to learn.
I myself think that I was able to change my career, choose my own life more proactively, and change it to a more enjoyable one by "learning" after becoming a member of society. Furthermore, I would be very happy if I could achieve my final goal at GLOBIS, which provides "learning".

  6. Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"

During meetings and discussions, I have the impression that discussions are smooth and discussions can be held without deviating from the points at issue. Many people have logical thinking and facilitation skills, which I think is precisely because GLOBIS teaches management and business skills. As a result, it is rare for collection issues to be lost due to discrepancies, or for air battles to occur, so I believe that decisions can be made efficiently.
Also, I get the impression that there are many people who are free to do what they want to do. I think this is also one of "Individual Discretion and Responsibility", but I think it's possible to work flexibly, such as taking a long vacation and traveling abroad, or doing a side job as a hobby. I think it's one of the wonderful cultures of GLOBIS to accept that.

MESSAGE

Message for those who are thinking about job change to GLOBIS

I myself joined GLOBIS from a completely different industry and made a big career change from business to technical. Of course, there are many things that I have to learn after joining the company, but I feel that I am able to grow personally, including those difficulties.

If you have any hesitation, I would like you to take on the challenge. I am sure that GLOBIS has a place where you can make use of the skills and knowledge you have cultivated so far, and that the environment and opportunities for learning toward your own goals are in place.

We look forward to working with you!
