Previous job industry/work
In my previous job, I worked as a systems development engineer at a company that mainly sold and developed core systems for financial institutions, trading companies, etc. In the six years since I joined the company as a new graduate, I have experienced various projects, both large and small, including long-term external assignments to develop leasing systems from scratch and operational support for data migrations that were completed in a few months.
At first, I was doing my best just to complete the work that I was in charge of, but then I was given roles such as development leader, and as I helped develop my subordinates and junior colleagues, my interest began to turn to "human growth," so I started to think about changing jobs. -
Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?
There are three main deciding factors.
The first question is, "For whom should I commit my growth?" When I changed jobs, I had a strong belief in my own potential and a strong desire to grow, but at the same time, I also had a strong desire to grow for the sake of those who, like me, believed in potential and wanted to grow.
The second point is, "Do you feel both logic and passion?" I spoke to many people during my job search, but I felt that there were few companies where I felt both logic and passion.
In the end, I think the most important thing was, "Is it an exciting environment?"
Everyone I met at GLOBIS during the recruitment process had sparkling eyes as they explained the business to me. I truly felt that I wanted to be like them and work with these people. -
Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS
I had expected to find many attractive people throughout the recruitment process, so there was no gap in that regard in a good sense. I still remember the welcoming atmosphere that everyone on the team gave me on my first day at work. What was particularly impressive was when I asked the Onboarding supporter, "Can I ask you about XX?" and the first thing he said was, with a smile, "Of course!" From the perspective of the person being asked the question, I was moved that he said this to me, even though he was busy and had been interrupted from work.
It may seem like a small thing, but I realize that the accumulation of these kinds of interactions leads to a corporate culture that values people, and I try to put this into practice myself. -
What is your current job?
When I first joined the company, I was in the Business School Division and was involved in the operation of the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University.
We have been promoting various projects, such as the launch of our online program in 2015 and the alumni business in 2017, to enable business people attending graduate school to play an active role in society as Visionary Leaders Who Create and Innovate Societies.
I have now been transferred to the Digital Platform Division and am in charge of sales in the GLOPLA Business Development Office, a new business venture for GLOBIS. I am mainly making sales proposals for a learning management system called GLOPLA LMS to people in charge of human resources at companies. -
What I want to achieve in my future career
"I believe in education and my own potential, and I want to continue to create opportunities and motivation for growth for people who believe in potential." It has been 12 years since I joined the company, and I have moved from GLOBIS Management School to the Digital Platform division, so my position and role have changed, but this feeling remains the same.
Everyone has moments when they feel they have reached their limits or hit a wall. I think the more you challenge yourself, the more likely you are to encounter such situations. While you need skills and experience to overcome obstacles, I think the most important thing is to "believe in your own potential" and to "have opportunities to grow." -
Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"
GLOBIS has a variety of positive cultures, but the one I can relate to the most is the culture of "believing in possibilities."
More than 10 years have passed since I joined GLOBIS, and when I turned 40 and was wondering what kind of career path I should take, many people, regardless of team or department, were willing to give me advice. Even people I had no previous relationship with were very kind and willing to give me advice. In addition, there is a system in place that allows you to request a transfer once a year within the company, so you have the opportunity to think about your own career.
As a result, I was able to transfer to the Digital Platform Division, and I am now able to take on new challenges in a field and job type that I have little experience in. I think the reason this type of communication and system has permeated Organization is because of the culture of "believing in possibilities," which I think is very GLOBIS like.
Message for those who are thinking about job change to GLOBIS
If you are interested in human growth or would like to support human growth through business, regardless of whether you have experience or not, we would love you to talk to a GLOBIS recruiter.
I myself joined GLOBIS Management School without any experience and have since been transferred to the digital platform division. Another feature of GLOBIS is that it has a variety of businesses in the education sector, including business schools, corporate training, e-learning, and digital platforms. There are opportunities to be involved in many businesses. One of the attractions of working at GLOBIS is that it offers the opportunity to take on a variety of challenges, rather than just one career.
There is a saying that "the act of working is working for others." So, "for whom are you working?" This is a matter of your own will and choice. If you are interested in helping someone grow or being involved in a business that supports that growth, I look forward to working with you!
