  1. Previous job industry/work

    I worked as an engineer at an AI vendor.
    With the theme of social implementation of AI, we are working on the development of applications that allow easy testing of image recognition models developed in-house, and we are involved in projects to develop solutions that utilize human detection and tracking models, and PoC systems to be introduced at customer sites. I developed a system, went to the field, created a dashboard to collect data, analyzed and evaluated it, and made proposals based on the results.

  2. Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?

    In order to increase Japan's competitiveness in the world, there is an awareness that we must put effort into the education of working adults. I think it is important to encourage people to acquire new skills and develop their careers.
    I feel that there is a great possibility that machine learning technology can contribute to realizing such a system, and if there is an environment where I can take on such challenges, GLOBIS would definitely like to try it. , I heard that they had a vision of starting something like personalization of learning, and I decided to join the company because it seemed to be close to what I wanted to do.

  3. Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS

    Before joining the company, my strongest image of GLOBIS was that it was a "graduate school of management."
    I had imagined that perhaps because of this, the company culture and systems were somewhat formal, but after joining the company, there was a very loose and free atmosphere within the company, and the employees around me were also very friendly. I remember working in a casual manner and feeling uneasy, in a good way.
    On my first day at the company, I happened to run into the CEO, Mr. Hori, and I have a vivid memory of him saying things like, ``Welcome to GLOBIS- I hope you enjoy yourselves!'' The other employees also seemed to have a good relationship with each other in the hierarchy. I felt like I had entered a new school rather than a new workplace, as they followed up on me in a very straightforward and thorough manner.

  4. What is your current job?

    Within GLOBIS Manabihoudai service, we are mainly working on developing a course video recommendation system that recommends courses that match the user from among the many available course videos.
    We are developing and improving functions such as automatically finding a course that would be good to watch next based on the user's previous learning status, and automatically picking up courses that are highly related to the course that has been viewed. We are working with the app team on this.
    We are also working on the development of MLOps to continuously operate the machine learning models used for this purpose. As user learning behavior and the type and content of course videos change daily, it is necessary to continuously monitor and improve machine learning models accordingly, and MLOps is essential as the basis for this. I would like to put all my efforts into this.

  5. What I want to achieve in my future career

    From the perspective of supporting the optimal learning experience for each user, we thought it would be possible to create something like an assistant function within the service that would support each user's learning, listen to their concerns, and provide advice. I am. Conversational AI has become a trend with the advent of OpenAI's ChatGPT, and I think it would be great if we could create something that would lead to value unique to GLOBIS while also considering the application of technology in these areas. .
    To this end, in addition to my technical expertise and catching up on trends, I also strive to "continue learning" in order to improve my skills as a data person to actually run projects. I would like to continue to put this into practice.

  6. Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"

    One of the things I felt strongly about after joining GLOBIS is that they value communication.
    Once a year, we hold an event called Retreat where all employees interact in a real place, and employees from different departments have a chance to confirm and discuss company-wide policies, missions, culture, etc., but through thorough face-to-face communication, We have never had any experience in trying to instill these ideas, and I feel that it is unique to GLOBIS.
    Also, when I first joined the company, there were times when I was confused by changes in communication. However, it was a good opportunity for me to reconsider my time management methods and take other measures to discipline myself and increase my productivity, and as I integrated into GLOBIS 's culture, it gradually became a positive thing for me.
