Previous job industry/work
In my previous job, I started my career as a systems engineer at a system integrator affiliated with a manufacturer. I was mainly involved in system development for enterprise companies and was also in charge of project management (PM) for the development team. I found my work very rewarding, using my technical skills to solve customer problems.
As I progressed in my career, I was appointed as a product owner (PO) for a new business, which was a major turning point for me. This experience exposed me to the excitement of business development itself, and I began to think, "Next, I want to move to a business company and immerse myself in the role of product owner," and so I decided to change jobs. -
Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?
There are three main reasons for this.
First of all, I strongly sympathize with the department's mission of "creating the future of learning and expanding people's potential." I personally feel that I have built my career as a working adult through "learning," and I strongly wanted to contribute to this mission.
The second attraction is the people. The people I met during the selection process were all really friendly, and I honestly felt like it would be easy to work with them.
The third is an environment where you can work with discretion. GLOBIS has a fundamental principle of "Individual Discretion and Responsibility," and I felt that this culture was deeply rooted in the company through the selection process. I was convinced that I would be able to work here with a sense of fulfillment. -
Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS
The first thing that surprised me when I joined the company was that the team was made up of professionals with a much more diverse range of careers than I had imagined.
Even just by attending daily Meeting, listening to discussions among members with diverse backgrounds is refreshing and I learn a lot from seeing perspectives like that.
Above all, I was surprised at how sensitive the members were to learning, as this is a company that handles MBAs and corporate training. Being surrounded by people who are constantly inputting new knowledge and thinking about how to utilize it gives me a positive stimulus that makes me want to grow every day. I am truly grateful for this environment. -
What is your current job?
I am currently part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining the core system that supports our corporate training business. Right now, we are working on a major project to rebuild this core system from scratch.
As a product owner (PO), I am in charge of defining system requirements while coordinating with many stakeholders. I find it extremely fulfilling to have such an environment where we are able to drive the project forward with a great deal of discretion. This project in particular is being developed in-house, so we have to take the initiative in everything related to the system. Of course, there are difficult parts, but I find it all the more rewarding. -
What I want to achieve in my future career
First of all, my goal is to become a product owner who can continue to provide solid value to the corporate training business we are involved in.
What's interesting about GLOBIS is the sheer variety of job types. After joining the company and meeting many professionals, I'm starting to feel that I don't need to stick to just the role of PO in the future. I'm always thinking about what kind of career excites me, and I want to take advantage of this environment to explore new paths. -
Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"
What I feel is most "GLOBIS like" is the warmth of the people around me.
When I'm having trouble at work, the people around me notice before I even say anything and say, "You seem different than usual." I used to be the type of person who would keep things to myself and think, "I have to solve it myself," but that's changed since I came to GLOBIS.
When you consult with those around you, you can often get opinions from a variety of perspectives and find a solution. Here, there is a strong culture of discussing things while respecting each other's opinions. No one will outright reject someone's opinion (I have never seen that happen). There are many colleagues who will work with you to think about how to make things happen. I think this is the strength of GLOBIS.
Message for those who are thinking about job change to GLOBIS
I feel that GLOBIS is by far the most open company I have ever worked for. I am proud to work here, and since changing jobs, my family has often told me, "I'm glad you changed jobs," seeing me working enthusiastically. And above all, I don't think there is a better environment or opportunity for those who want to learn and grow toward their own goals. Why not come learn and grow with us?
