Previous job industry/work
My previous job was at a railway company, where I was involved in the railway business for about eight years. The reason I chose this career as a new graduate was because, based on my formative experiences as a student, I was interested in the aspect of "human growth," and I was attracted to the idea of being involved in developing specialized human resources such as train crew members, who are the core of the railway business.
In the first half of his career, he experienced on-site work in railway operations such as drivers and indirect work in training crew members. In the second half, he was transferred to the company's new business division, where he was in charge of solution sales, proposing in-house AI systems and data analysis contracts to mainly manufacturing customers, with the aim of resolving issues in the railway business, and was also in charge of providing practical training to members as the chief of the external sales team. -
Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?
Drawing on my previous work experience and personal interests, I wanted to contribute to the "growth of people" in society more broadly. Initially, I considered working for a major system integrator or a SaaS startup, as these were industries where I could utilize my experience in new business ventures and sales. However, after experiencing the positive impact that relearning had on my career, I ultimately decided that "spreading the value of adult education" was my most important priority.
Among the many companies, I chose GLOBIS because I felt I could relate to their deep knowledge of training and philosophy of self-actualization, and that I could contribute to the "growth of people" as a salesperson. I also thought that I could use my previous work experience to help grow new businesses, and I was strongly attracted to the idea of contributing to the realization of a society where more people can work with a high sense of self-efficacy. I also felt that an environment where I could systematically learn the skills to promote a business through an MBA was essential for my own growth, so I decided to join the company. -
Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS
I had no experience in human resources in my previous job, so I was worried about my lack of knowledge. Also, since my experience was limited to large companies, mainly new graduates, I was worried about whether I would be able to communicate smoothly with members with diverse backgrounds. Frankly, I was particularly worried because I was hired in Osaka, and my superiors and other members were all in Tokyo.
However, after joining the company, I realized that my fears were unfounded. In terms of knowledge, I was able to get off the ground easily with the systematized knowledge and Onboarding provided by Organization, and in terms of communication, thanks to Organization culture that respects opinions equally regardless of position or age, I had many opportunities to have my opinions accepted even as a new employee. In particular, by making use of the virtual office, I was able to work with members in Tokyo with such speed that I felt no distance at all, and my biggest concern has now become the most positive gap. -
What is your current job?
I am in charge of enterprise sales for the SaaS learning management system "GLOPLA LMS." Currently, I am primarily responsible for sales and business development of the new business "Skill Management Plan," while also being in charge of sales of the existing "Learning Management Plan."
The Skills Management Plan is a vertical product targeted at industries such as retail, services, and food service, and supports the development and sophistication of employees working in the field of business divisions. On the other hand, the Learning Management Plan is a horizontal product that supports the development and sophistication of human resources departments' development plans, contributing to the creation of a company-wide culture of autonomous learning.
In particular, I find it extremely rewarding to be at the forefront of new business ventures, developing products based on customer feedback and contributing to solving real-world problems. -
What I want to achieve in my future career
What I want to achieve in my career is to "increase people's sense of self-efficacy by supporting their growth."
To achieve this, I would like to ensure that the new business I am currently in charge of, GLOPLA LMS "Skills Management Plan," is a success and contribute to the growth of employees who are at the forefront of our clients' businesses. To achieve this, I would like to actively acquire the skills and experience necessary for business growth, focusing on sales and business development.
In the medium to long term, I would like to be in charge of team management in new business areas and support the growth of my team members. In the future, I also aim to play a role as a professor at a business graduate school. I aim to be a professional who can contribute to the "growth of people" from both the front lines of new business and in the field of education. -
Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"
What I feel is unique about GLOBIS is the deep mutual understanding among members and the culture of pursuing mutual growth. This is symbolized by the habit of always keeping cameras on during internal online Meeting. At my previous job, cameras were generally off for the most part, but at GLOBIS, a deep understanding of others is evident not only through words but also through non-verbal cues such as facial expressions and nods.
Another is the idea that "feedback is a gift." To be honest, when I first joined the company, the feedback I received at each business meeting made me keenly aware of my own shortcomings and it was sometimes painful. But now, it has become an indispensable opportunity that teaches me important issues that I would not have noticed on my own. This attitude of deeply understanding others and sincerely supporting each other's growth is what I feel is unique about GLOBIS.
Message for those who are thinking about job change to GLOBIS
I'm sure many people are worried about their first job change, especially those who, like me, are deciding whether to move on from a stable, large company. After receiving my job offer, I too worried about whether I could truly achieve results with my experience and whether I would be able to work well with members from diverse backgrounds. At that time, what cleared my doubts were the words of my then-business manager during my interview: "You should have bigger dreams." I thought deeply about my life's purpose and decided to take on the challenge in that direction. If you're similarly torn between anxiety about the challenge and excitement about a new environment, I urge you to take that first step. At GLOBIS, you'll find colleagues and a culture that will fully support you in your endeavors.
