INTERVIEW
  1. Previous job industry/work

After graduating from university, I joined Recruit's overseas business company.
I was assigned to India as a new graduate and engaged in recruitment consulting, mainly for Japanese companies.
I have lived in Canada and Taiwan when I was a student. Laws and customs related to employment were different, and I was often faced with situations that would never have happened in Japan. Through such experiences, I feel that I have acquired the mindset and skills to think and act on my own, even in areas I have never experienced before. After that, I was transferred to Thailand and was involved in recruitment support for Japanese companies, just like I was in India.

  2. Why did you decide to join GLOBIS?

While working abroad in my previous job, I heard of many management and people-related challenges, and in fact I myself faced a major challenge involving the Japanese head office.
In doing so, I noticed that the attitudes of people to face challenges differ greatly. While there were people who had "kokorozashi" and faced their challenges seriously (some of them happily), some people were in a half-give-up mode, saying, "In India, it's like this in Thailand." It left a strong impression on me.
From this experience, I came to think that the leaders of Japanese companies working overseas need to change in order for Japanese companies to have a greater presence on the global stage and to be seen as companies that are rewarding to work for. rice field. After a while, I started a career change to realize that dream.
I had heard about the name GLOBIS at a seminar in Thailand, but after being introduced to it by a recruiter, I became interested and began to investigate in detail. I decided to join the company because I thought that I could contribute to the transformation of leaders in Japanese companies because they provide a wide range of solutions such as corporate training and venture capital as well as graduate school of management. I think the fact that we are expanding globally, holding seminars in Thailand, was also a big factor.

  3. Gap felt before and after joining GLOBIS

Before joining the company, I had a strong impression of the Graduate School of Business Administration, and compared it to my previous job, I had a formal image, but in a good way, it was different from what I had imagined.
We are Organization that values self-responsibility, and we feel a strong commitment to results from Organization top management and employees.
For example, on days when there are no meetings with clients, many people, myself included, come to work in casual clothes. In addition, you can use your time relatively freely at your own discretion, such as picking up your children from school. I feel that it is an environment that is easy to work in because it is well-balanced.

  4. What is your current job?

After joining GLOBIS, I mainly planned and proposed Japanese language training as a solution salesperson in the Chubu region for four years. Currently, as a senior consultant in the global team of the Tailor-Made Solutions Division, I provide human resource development consulting for global companies in Japan and overseas (company-wide/business global management leader development, overseas site leader development, etc.).
Specifically, after grasping the external environment, management strategy, the overall picture of Organization, and the state of the trainees, we repeatedly discuss with the client and instructor in English and Japanese, "What should be the ideal state?" while setting goals. And we are working on a cycle of programme design, implementation, review and improvement is carried out to achieve them.
I often have discussions in English with clients and domestic and overseas partners. In addition, I have several roles within the team, such as planning and managing knowledge management within the department and team, and supporting new team members.

  5. What I want to achieve in my future career

Through my career, I would like to further increase the global presence of Japanese companies. Through my experience overseas, I have a strong desire to increase the presence of Japanese companies by having each and every business person working overseas demonstrate further leadership.
To that end, I believe it is extremely important that GLOBIS be able to increase our global presence, and that I myself be a global leader as someone involved in training. In addition to contributing to the global growth of Japanese companies, I would also like to build my own career both domestically and internationally, and grow into a leader who can increase the global presence of GLOBIS.

  6. Episodes that felt "GLOBIS-like"

In 2020, I was very impressed by the policy change in strategy based on the spread of the new coronavirus.
At that time, there was a planned global policy, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus Organization that policy was temporarily put on hold. That's what it means.
In response to changes in the external environment, we think about the direction of the strategy without fear of change, and set it out, and the entire Organization moves towards it. I felt the strength and uniqueness of GLOBIS in this sense of speed and the high level of ability and flexibility of Organization and individuals to realize it.
